What happens to alligators living in water?
They poke their nose above the water so they can breathe.
THen the water freezes around the animals!
They stay there until the ice melts.
Are the alligators are okaY?
Yes!
alligators are just fine with most of their body under in the ice.
They can stay there for a few hours or even days.
This is just one of the ways they stay alive in winter.
Alligators slow down for the whole winter, not just when the water is frozen.
They sleep alot, and Their body cools down.
When springs come they warm up again!
