Hello!
I’m mandarlyn!
Today I’m going to tell you about Mount Everest!
Let’s go!
Mount Everest is the highest mountain.
People come around the world to climb it.
But the mountain is also home to plants and animals.
Trees live near the bottom of Mount Everest. Deer and small animals live there too.
Yaks and snow leopards live higher up on the mountain.
These animals eat snow or find water to drink.
Yaks eat shrubs and grass.
Snow leopards hunt wild sheep and goats.
The temperatue gets colder as you go up Mount Everest.
But it’s not tooo hot or cold for life!
The air is thin at the top of Mount Everest. Animals that live there have large lungs.
Their lungs help them a lot of air with each breath.
But people usually bring extra air with them.
In most places, air blocks some sunlight.
But on Mount Everest, the thin air means more light gets through.
People can get sunburns, even though It’s cold outside.
There is light, but plants can’t grow this high up.
Do youknow?
Mount Everest is getting taller! That’s because each year, the mountain gets pushed up a few millimeters as Earth’s surface moves.
Many animals go up Mount Everest only in summer when it is warm. But some animals, such as jumping spiders, live high on the mountain all year.
Jumping spiders live in holes in rocks.
They can jump from rock to rocks.
These spiders eat tiny insects that get carried up the mountain by wind.
Did you enjoy?
I kind of don’t understand and respect the people climbing and reaching Mount Everest.
I even strugled to go to the top of 다랑쉬오름!
Well anyways, See you later!
